The South East Malawi Conference (SEMC) Women’s Ministries Department successfully hosted a beautiful Thanksgiving Sabbath on Saturday, 9th May 2026 at the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) Auditorium.
The event was held under the inspiring theme “Count Your Blessings.”
Mrs Joyce Milandu, Director of Women’s Ministries, opened the programme by calling on all women and the entire congregation to cultivate a heart of gratitude. She urged everyone to praise God for His faithfulness and for fulfilling His promises in their lives.
The guest preacher for the day, Pastor TY Nyirenda, delivered a powerful sermon based on the Song of Moses in Exodus 15. He reminded the congregation how the children of Israel sang a song of thanksgiving to God after crossing the Red Sea, a situation that had seemed completely hopeless.
Pastor Nyirenda encouraged the members not to despair in difficult times, but to see every challenging situation as an opportunity to trust God more deeply. He emphasised that when God comes through, we must respond with genuine thanksgiving, just as the Israelites did. He closed by praying that one day we will all stand before God and sing the Song of Moses and the Lamb, as recorded in Revelation 15:3.
The service concluded with a special consecration prayer led by the President of the South East Malawi Conference, Pastor Daniel Binali. He rededicated all SEMC members to the Lord, committing them afresh to lives of gratitude, faithfulness, and total dependence on God.
It was indeed a Spirit-filled day of praise and renewed commitment.
